The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said yesterday that residents of Navy Hill, Upper MIHA, China Town and of Japon Street will experience a 10-hour water outage today, Feb. 19, 2014, from 8am to 6pm.

The purpose of this water outage is to allow CUC’s contractor, GPPC Inc., to rehabilitate the pressure relief valve on Navy Hill Road. This project is part of the Navy Hill Water Line and Pressure Improvement Project funded by the U.S. Environment Protection Agency.

The water outage will affect residents living in Navy Hill, Upper MIHA, China Town, and homes along Japon Street.

CUC’s operations team and GPPC will be working hard to return service to our customers in these affected areas as soon as possible. Because of the scale of the work to be performed, CUC recommends that motorists exercise caution when driving through the construction sites.

CUC apologizes in advance for any inconvenience resulting from this project and the water service interruption. Direct inquiries to project manager Larry Manacop at (670) 236-4332. (CUC)
