Wild Bill’s crushes Matansa FC

Wild Bill’s opened the spring season of the 2014 M-League with a bang after thumping Matansa FC in Division 1, 9-0, last Sunday at the Oleai Sports Complex.

Jeeraphong Thoensaket was on target in Wild Bill’s first game of the season, scoring four goals. He had two each in the first and second half to give Wild Bill’s a rousing start. Wild Bill’s got the two other goals in the first half off an own goal and Daniel Wollack’s conversion.

Then in the second half, Thoensaket began Wild Bill’s offense for an early hat-trick, while three of his teammates also chipped in. Tyler Wisley handed Wild Bill’s its second goal in the final frame, while Tanapon Unsa made it a 7-0 advantage. Adul Detdon gave Wild Bill’s its last goal a few minutes after Thoensaket earned his fourth one.

Paire 1, Inter Godfather’s 1
The spring season kicked off with a game between Paire and Inter Godfather’s, which settled for a draw.

Ajani Burelle scored the first goal in the second, as he found the back of the net in the 13th minute. Paire kept the shaky advantage in the first half and until the first 16 minutes of the second half before Inter Godfather’s equalized.

Jeffery Castro canned the game-tying goal in the 62nd minute and both teams hung tough on defense to end the match in a deadlock.

Tan Holdings 5, Kanoa 2
In the second game, Tan Holdings outclassed Kanoa.

Sean Perez had a hat-trick for Tan Holdings. His string of goals started in the first half, as he knocked in two in the opening frame and opened the final half with another one. Perez got his first goal in the 19th minute and the second four minutes before the first half wrapped up. The third and last came at the 68th minute.

Xu Zheng also made it to the board with his goal in the 76th, while Jershwin Angeles posted the club’s last goal four minutes later.

Kanoa had one goal apiece in the first and second halves with the first one courtesy of Ho Jin Woo in the 21st and the second off Evan Belcher’s shot five minutes into the second half.

Women’s National Team 2, Sun Palace 0
In the lone Division 2 game, the CNMI Women’s National Team stunned Sun Palace.

Irish Pagarao made both goals for the Commonwealth bets in the latter part of the second half. She registered the first goal in the 59th minute and the second seven minutes later.

Meanwhile, M-League organizers clarified that the relegation rules will be implemented right after the spring season.

The Thundercats, who ruled the fall season, will only be promoted to Division 1 if they will also finish on top of Division 2 at the end of the spring season in May. Matansa, which was winless in 10 games in Division 1 will be relegated to Division 2 if it is remains the cellar dweller after this season.
