MVA aids four Japan media FAM tours in January

The Marianas Visitors Authority aided four media FAM(iliarization) tours from Japan in January 2014, anticipated to bring over $11 million in advertising ad exposure to the Northern Mariana Islands.
“The MVA continues to lend its support—financial and logistical—to media and travel agent FAM tours coming to learn about Saipan, Tinian, and Rota,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “The media FAM welcomed in January will be publishing their stories in the late spring, a perfect time to start building interest for summer visits.”
Globe Trotter Travel Guidebook, one of the most famous overseas travel guidebooks in Japan, returned to the Northern Marianas on Jan. 5-18. The editorial team will revise its 250-plus pages about Saipan in its next issue, anticipated for publication in April 2014. The guidebook has been in publication since 1988 and circulates 45,000 copies a year, targeting men and women planning to travel abroad.
TV show Sekai no Nihonjinzuma ha Mita! features Japanese wives who live overseas and are married to locals. The Saipan show will feature one or two Japanese wives living on Saipan. The show reaches over 4 million households on TBS and 28 other TV stations across Japan. The three-member crew of the show was in Saipan Jan. 25-Feb. 3.
High-class golf fashion magazine Regina PREMIUM visited Jan. 28-Feb. 1 and will dedicate eight pages of its 2014 spring issue to the Northern Marianas. The magazine circulates 60,000 copies, targeting beginning women golfers. Its articles focus on golf lessons, exercise, fashion, golfing goods, and cosmetics.
