The 29th season of the Saipan Rocball League is down to four teams after completion of the 45 regular season games last Friday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

Left to battle in the semifinal round are Out-of-Shape, Rollerz, Teachers, and A-Team. Out-of-Shape and Rollerz are paired in the first semis duel, while the Teachers collide against A-Team in another best-of-three series with the winners of the Final Four matches advancing to the best-of-five title showdown.

Coming into today’s semifinal matches, Out-of-Shape is slightly favored against the Rollerz after topping the scoring in the regular season and finishing the eliminations with an unbeaten 8-0 record. The top finisher gained 217 points from aces, xunks, kees, and goals against the 170 of Rollerz, which made it to the semifinals last with an even 4-4 card, losing the tiebreak for third with A-Team.

A-Team earned 203 points in the regular season, just two more than Teachers, which got a 7-1 record in the elimination to gain the second seeding.

Meanwhile, Out-of-Shape was named the heavy-hitter team (for scoring the most points) in the regular season. It notched 67 points off aces and xunk serves, 62 off backcourt plays, and 21 off 3-point goals. (Saipan Tribune)
