Rotaract open house at NMC

The Rotary Club of Saipan will host an open house for prospective Rotaract members at the Northern Marianas College on Feb. 26 and 27.
The open house will allow NMC students to get informed about Rotaract and ask questions of Rotary members about the youth group.
The planned creation of a Rotaract Club in the CNMI’s only community college comes a few years after the local Rotary Club helped create an Interact Club at the Marianas High School.
The Rotaract Club is for college students; the Interact Club is for high school students.
Rotaract originally began as a Rotary International youth program in 1968 at Charlotte North Rotary Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It has since then grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of over 9,539 clubs around the world and 219,397 members.
Rotaract is a service, leadership, and community service organization for young men and women between the ages 18-30. Rotaract focuses on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplaces.
The Rotary Club of Saipan will also be organizing an open house for prospective Rotary members on Jan. 28 at the Hyatt Regency Saipan. The open house, however, is an invitation-only event. It also does not offer automatic membership to those invited and prospective membership still need to be sponsored into the organization.
