JKPL to start ukulele classes Feb. 4

The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will be bringing back its ukulele classes starting Feb. 4 at the library’s Children of our Homeland Library.
Beginner classes will be held every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 4:30 pm, while intermediate and advanced classes will be every Thursday from 4:45pm to 5:45pm. Larry Lee will be handling the classes.
The beginner class is open to anyone who is interested on learning how to play the ukulele. Students planning on enrolling in the advanced ukulele class must first pass the intermediate class.
The ukulele classes at JKPL are open to children 8 years or older and adults and costs $50 for the lessons’ eight-hour entirety.
Deadline to register is Feb. 1 and a minimum of 15 students and a maximum of 40 students are needed for the classes to start. Registration is on first-come, first-paid basis.
Students must also provide their own ukuleles and a folder to hold music sheets. JKPL recommends plastic sheet protectors and a three-ring binder for this purpose.
Parents or guardians must also sign a liability waiver form on behalf of their participating children and must adhere to public library policies and procedures.
