Jay Muna topped the Marianas Golf Association December Ace of the Month Tournament held last Dec. 22 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course.

Muna carded a net score of 70 following a gross of 80 built around a 37 in the front nine and 43 in the back nine. He has a 10 handicap.

He actually finished tied with Ben Duenas after the 11-handicapper came away with a 41 in the first nine holes and a 40 in the last nine holes for a gross of 81. Muna, however, took the December plum after Duenas was found ineligible to win the monthly competition.

Jack Salas registered the day’s lowest score after he shot a net 68 following identical 42s in the front and back nines. However, the 16-handicapper already won earlier in the year, which also made him ineligible to hoist the December crown.

In the closest to the pin competition, Ernest Sablan won in hole No. 3, Norman “Dung” Tenorio was without peer in hole No.7, Shine Tenorio topped hole No. 13, and Muna bested everyone in hole No.17.

MGA would like to thank its members and their family for hosting the club’s banquet as well as Laolao Bay Golf & Resort for their hosting of the MGA December Ace of the Month tournament.
