The Manta Ray Battalion participated in the 8th Brigade JLAB (JROTC Leadership Academic Bowl) and U.S. Army 8th Brigade Academic Challenge Competition. This competition tests the cadets on their knowledge about JROTC lessons and JLAB experience.

The 8th Brigade JLAB competition started off with the academic challenge on Nov. 8, 2013 and the leadership challenge on Nov. 12, 2013.

The cadets that participated in the U.S. Army 8th Brigade Academic Challenge did an outstanding performance competing against other JROTC schools from Alaska, California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam and the CNMI.

The competition started off with the LET 2 (Leadership Education Training) on Dec. 5, 2013, and the LET 1 on Dec. 6, 2013.

The cadets’ hard work and training gave them the spot for second place in the overall competition of the U.S. Army 8th Brigade Academic Challenge for LET 1. Although they may have taken first place last year, the Manta Ray Battalion strives to continue to be dedicated and motivated to get better in each competition. (PR)
