Public investiture ceremony for Kim-Tenorio next week
The Commonwealth Judiciary announced yesterday that the public investiture ceremony for Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa K. Kim-Tenorio will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2013, in the Supreme Court courtroom, beginning at 10:30am.
On Oct. 3, 2013, Gov. Eloy S. Inos nominated Kim-Tenorio to fill the vacancy on the Superior Court bench. In December, Kim-Tenorio appeared before the Senate’s Committee on Executive Appointment and Government Investigation. Following the committee’s recommendation, the Senate unanimously confirmed her as associate judge. On Dec. 22, she was duly commissioned with Inos administering the oath of office.
Kim-Tenorio served as the legal counsel for Inos. Prior to that, she served as the legal counsel for the CNMI lieutenant governor and the CNMI Legislature. She also spent time in private practice.
In 1997, she earned her bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. In May 2001, she graduated from New England School of Law with her juris doctor degree. She is licensed to practice law in five jurisdictions including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the Northern Mariana Islands.
Kim-Tenorio is the daughter of Yong Chan and Jin Soon Kim and has two siblings: Hea Joung Kim and Angela Kim. She is married to Perry John Pangelinan Tenorio and they have four sons: Justis, Sunho, Pedro, and Sunjoon. [B][I](NMI Judiciary)[/I][/B]
