GUAM (Pacific News Center)—Bail was set at $250,000 cash for each of three young men accused in yet another brutal rape early Monday morning.

The three are accused of gang-raping a 24-year-old woman at Lencho Park in Dededo about 4:30am Monday morning.

Jose Longa, 21, was charged with conspiracy to commit first degree criminal sexual conduct and felonious restraint. Minorichy Nisar Taitano Rugante, 25, was charged with three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct. Francis Madeus, 18, was also charged with three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct.

It’s a sadly familiar story, young men drinking in the park late at night. A woman walked by and the magistrate complaint says that Rugante told Madeus he wanted to have sex with her. He went up to the woman and asked her. She refused and tried to run away. But Madeus then tackled her, says the complaint, and the others joined in.

An early morning jogger saw the attack and called police to report “a rape in progress.” According to the magistrate complaint, the caller told police he heard a woman screaming, and calling out for help.

When the GPD officers arrived on the scene, the woman was getting up from the ground, nude from the waist down, crying hysterically.

Officers noted an empty bottle of iced tea near her that, the victim said, her attackers had put on her mouth to keep her from screaming out loud.

She said that four young men raped her, while another held her down. Two of the accused were quickly apprehend at the scene, a third was arrested a short time later.
