The Department of Public Work’s Energy Division Office will be hosting an Energy Awareness Event from Tuesday, Jan. 21, through Friday, Jan. 25, 2014, from 9am to 4pm for the residents of Rota at the Rota Mayor’s Office. The Energy Division will be distributing CFL’s and reusable tote bags as part of its Energy Awareness Program. This project is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, State Energy Program and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The cornerstone of this campaign is to “Take action now, empower leadership, innovation and excellence to realize a secure energy future,” encouraging everyone to participate by taking small steps that make a big difference and by challenging people to do more to help reduce the effects of global warming with more energy-efficient choices at home and at work. Together we can make a difference.

These promotions are available to all residential paying customers of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. on a first-come, first serve basis, and therefore must provide a copy of their most current utility bill and a valid ID to receive the free items. Businesses are not eligible to participate in the event.

For questions or information regarding the Energy Awareness Event you may contact the Energy Division at 664-4480/1.
