Service member dies in swimming incident

[B]SANTA RITA, Guam[/B]—A service member stationed aboard Andersen Air Force Base died on Jan. 5 in a swimming-related incident while spear fishing near Agat.

The body of the service member was found early Jan. 6 and transported to Naval Hospital Guam after an intensive search Sunday evening and Monday morning by Guam Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 search and rescue teams.

The official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy. The identity of the service member is being withheld until 24 hours after the next of kin has been notified. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B]
