Town hall meeting for Affordable Care Act

The Department of Commerce will hold a town hall meeting at 5:30pm on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the American Memorial Park Theater, to address the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
The goal of this meeting is to educate the public on the portion of the federal healthcare reform that extends to the territories; the implementation efforts currently being made in the Commonwealth; and how the CNMI government plans to mitigate the challenges of implementing the strict insurance market reforms.
A representative of the Group Health and Life Insurance Trust Fund, which administers the CNMI government employee health plan, will also be present to answer questions.
Questions and comments will be taken at meeting after the informative presentation portion. All are encouraged to attend this event.
