PSS treats lawmakers, media to ‘Christmas Around the World’
All roads led to the main office of the Public School System in Susupe Friday morning for the “Christmas Around the World,” a special breakfast treat by PSS for two of its key partner groups: lawmakers and the media.
Held at the main headquarters ground, the festivity was highlighted by various dishes prepared by every personnel of each unit of the central office.
Education Commissioner Dr. Rita A. Sablan said the special treat is a tradition for PSS to express its gratitude to members of the executive and legislative branches as well as the media outlets that continue to support the school system.
Seen with fellow guests were Delegate Gregorio Kilili Sablan (Ind-MP), Board of Education chair Herman T. Guerrero, Marianas Variety president Laila Y. Boyer and associate editor Alexie Zotomayor, KKMP’s Rosemond Santos, KSPN reporters Bob Coldeen and Lanie Walker, and Taro Leaf’s media specialist Ulysses Sabuco, among other attendees.
Several House members also joined the occasion to honor PSS’ education awardees by conferring resolutions to each and every awardee.
School principals and program managers also graced the occasion, along with other stakeholders.
“This is a tradition for PSS and we’ve been doing this for the last five years. Each year, we want to dedicate—during Christmas season—a time to celebrate with our media partners and members of the Legislature. It’s the time we want to sit down and just celebrate the occasion with them,” Sablan told Saipan Tribune.
The food ranged from special pastries and cakes, to local delicacies like titiyas and rice cakes, special breakfast packs, and soups, among others.
Guests were also treated to holiday songs by the Marianas High School’s Rhythm N’ Harmony.
