BANMI hosts courses; NMIFA, SSS hold camp
Basketball Association of Northern Marianas Islands is holding two free course next month, while Northern Mariana Islands Football Association in collaboration with Saipan Soccer School is hosting a football camp this holiday season.
BANMI is starting off with the scoretable official course that is divided into five sessions. The first three are set for Jan. 6, 7, and 9, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, while the fourth session (Jan. 11) will be a whole-day affair with the morning course running from 8:30am to 12pm and the afternoon session from 1:30pm to 6pm. The course will end on Jan. 14 with a session from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
Only the first 15 individuals to register on or before Jan. 6 (1pm) are allowed to take the scoretable official course.
The same limit and registration deadline will be implemented in the Level 0/1 basketball referee course that is spread in four sessions. The first two sessions are schedule for Jan. 18 and 19, while the last two are slated for Jan. 25 and 26. The morning sessions are from 8:30am to 12pm, while the afternoon’s are from 1:30pm to 6pm.

Meanwhile, the NMIFA/SSS’ holiday football camp will kick off today. The Monday session from 9am to 11am at the Oleai Sports Complex field is for players in the girls U14 boys age group. The next two sessions (Dec. 24 and 26) are for U14 and U16 girls, while the boys U14 participants will have their turn on Dec. 27. Another session for girls U16 and U16 will be held on Dec. 28.
For the second and last week of the camp, the boys U14 participants will attend the sessions on Dec. 31, Jan. 2, and Jan. 4, while the Dec. 30 and Jan. 3 dates are reserved for players in the girls U14 and U16 age groups.
