JKPL to hold AV2 Books demonstration
Staff of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will be attending an AV2 Books demonstration on Wednesday, Dec. 18, starting at 9am.
According to JKPL Children’s Library associate Erlinda Naputi, AV2 Books are produced by Weigl and is a line of media-enhanced books that have audiovisual and added-value multimedia components that supplement and complement printed books.
A single book code printed in each book allows readers to access the media-enhanced features on any computer from any location.
“We currently have 102 AV2 Books but hoping to add more titles to our collection. We also have 100 children’s titles on ebooks,” said Naputi.
Wednesday’s presentation will enable JKPL staff to see what titles they have and how to access these books online. “Instead of demonstrating to each staff, we decided to do one demonstration. JKPL staff, myself included, will be assisting in the demonstration.”
Naputi also wants to inform frequent visitors of JKPL that its slate of programs will continue during the Christmas holiday.
For instance, JKPL’s Read aloud and Crafts are still held every Saturday beginning 10:30am. Family Movie Day, meanwhile, is also every Saturday from 1pm to 2:30 pm.
