The organizers of the 2nd Annual Saipan Candle Lighting Remembrance Program would like to thank all those that donated to, and supported, our event, including the Governor’s Office and the staff and management of the Governor Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, Marianas Variety, Saipan Tribune, Jillian Angeline and KSPN Channel 2, Tina Palacios and Sorensen Media Saipan, Larry, Kanani and Kui Lee for their wonderful music, Dental Care, Dr. Nelson Krum and Donna Krum, White Computer Services and Coconut Scanning Services, Thomas Lee A. Manglona II and the students of Mt. Carmel School for their invaluable assistance, Blossoms Floral, Whispering Palms School, Senator and Mrs. Paul A. Manglona, Herman’s Modern Bakery, iFashion Salon, the staff of Taro Sue Corp., John Fraser, Marcia Schultz, Lorna Arcega and family.
Over 50 children and siblings were honored with a candle and gentle memories, and another 10 attendees were there to honor their loved ones.
The program was held in conjunction with The Compassionate Friends’ (http://www.compassionatefriends.org/home.aspx) 17th Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting Service, which was held on Dec. 8, at 7pm local time, in countries around the world.

The Compassionate Friends is a national mutual assistance, self-help organization that offers friendship, understanding and support to family members who have experienced the death of a son, daughter, brother, sister, grandchild or friend, and helps others better assist grieving families. Our monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, at 6:30pm in the NMPASI conference room.
