Violating the constitution

Stealing people’s hard earned past is making it hard to live in the present.

For the information of all who may be asking, like many others who had asked me about the constitutional violation I filed with the District Court, and to better understand my complaint against Gov. Eloy Inos, one must read the actual constitutional language and purpose, as set forth below:

NMI Constitution, Article III, Section 20a reads “Membership in an employee retirement system of the Commonwealth shall constitute a contractual relationship. Accrued benefits of this system shall be neither diminished nor impaired.”

The purpose of our NMI Retirement Fund program “is to provide retirement security and other benefits to government employees, their spouses and dependents, and former governors and former lieutenant governors, and to provide for an actuarially sound, locally funded pension system pursuant to the Agreement of the Special Representative of Future United States Financial Assistance for the Northern Mariana Islands and in accord with constitutional provisions protecting the rights of government employees.”

It is very obvious Gov. Eloy Inos has violated our Constitution and laws. He, however, is in painful denial. Although he admitted that he “has been through several events that brought [him] close to experiencing a constitutional crisis,” he created an unforgivable retirement fund crisis. Excuse me governor, our constitutionally created NMI Retirement Fund is already experiencing constitutional crisis because of you! Your failure and the failure of the NMI Retirement Fund officials to ensure an actuarially sound retirement program, is stealing people’s hard earned past. For many years, government employees worked so hard to secure a lifelong pension to sustain them when they reach their golden years and support themselves throughout their lives. You now made it very hard for retirees to live in the present.

Why are those sworn to protect and defend our constitution and laws not even doing a darn thing about the constitutional violations by the present governor! Is the AG also in denial? Is the public auditor not aware? Why is it that only Congresswoman Janet Maratita and a couple members of the 18th Legislature are pushing to appeal the issue of constitutional violations in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals?

Governor Inos is so wrong to believe that “we have reached a point of political maturity” because we have not! How can he lie to us that we reached political maturity when our constitution is being violated beyond recognition by the very people we elected and sworn to protect our constitution and laws?

How could governor Inos be so negligent in agreeing for the CNMI to pay Betty Johnson’s legal fees without first knowing and negotiating how much the legal fees would be? His negligence is the same as him giving a blank check with his signature to a crook. The Betty Johnson class counsel filed with the District Court asking the CNMI to pay $40 million in legal fees. Just a few days ago, Betty Johnson class counsel filed again additional legal fees of $1,133,734.26 billing the CNMI. When is this madness going to stop? Is this what we can refer to as a prudent and responsible Governor? I don’t think so. It is highway robbery!

For naysayer Maniakis who continues to hide behind a computer, come to Jesus and let’s have coffee because gaige ha’ yu.
