Public School System leaders and employees spent some quality time together as they celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday in the central office grounds yesterday.

Led by Board of Education chair Herman T. Guerrero, the occasion was highlighted by the meaningful messages delivered especially for the staff, who were all recognized and appreciated for the hard work they’re doing for the schoolchildren of the Commonwealth.

The board yesterday granted administrative leave for all staff and employees at the central office as well as personnel at the elementary and middle school levels.

Guerrero said staff and employees of the system play a pivotal role in the success of the public schools and that all their efforts and sacrifices are always appreciated by the community and stakeholders.

The chairman specifically commended Education Commissioner Dr. Rita A. Sablan for her continued demonstration of effective leadership for the system.

“We commend you all and the commissioner for all the hard work and fashion for our students. Thank you for working for the PSS,” said Guerrero.

Sablan, for her part, disclosed that without the support and cooperation of the staff, yesterday’s celebration would have not been possible.

Also in attendance in yesterday’s special luncheon treat were board members Janice Tenorio, Tanya King, and Lucy Blanco-Maratita.
