Mixed martial arts fighter Tara Marie Namauleg was arrested last week for allegedly beating up her boyfriend at the latter’s residence in Koblerville.

Namauleg, 27, also known as Tarantula, was taken to Superior Court Friday on charges of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $1,500 cash bail for the defendant’s temporary release.

Yesterday, Camacho granted the defendant’s motion to modify the bail by allowing her to post a property bond and released her to a third-party custodian.

Detective Flora Danica B. Aguon stated in her report that the boyfriend called the Department of Public Safety on Tuesday at 11:56pm to report about a domestic violence involving Namauleg.

When a responding police officer arrived at the scene, the boyfriend told the officer that Namauleg punched, kicked, and scratched him.

After a few minutes later, Namauleg showed up and started shouting at her boyfriend. The officer got in between them to prevent a physical fight.

When Namauleg walked away, the officer asked another responding police officer to arrest her.

At 12:07am Wednesday, the defendant was arrested and detained at the Department of Corrections.

The victim told police that everything started when Namauleg took his vehicle and returned late that night. As the two ended up arguing, she allegedly started to be aggressive by punching and kicking him all over the body. She also allegedly scratched him across the left cheek area.

That same Tuesday night, MMA fighter Maitai K. Charley, 29, was also arrested again, this time for allegedly slapping a woman who was a total stranger to him in Garapan.
