The Commonwealth Advocates for Recovery Efforts, more popularly known as CNMI C.A.R.E., is looking for motivated individuals willing to volunteer their time and effort.

Every weekend C.A.R.E., partnering with other organizations on Saipan, is going to—weather permitting—start working on a few heavily damaged neighborhoods, helping to remove debris, secure, and stabilize homes.

If you are interested in being a volunteer or you need help as a result of Typhoon Soudelor please go to www.cnmicare.com and sign up for assistance or to be a volunteer!

In addition to these work parties, CARE is hosting two types of training for those interested in leading volunteers.

One is a team leader training every Wednesday from 5:30pm to 7pm at the TSL Plaza in Garapan on the third floor. This team leader training will give any volunteers the necessary tools to successfully lead others during the work parties in the future. This team leader training will cover several leadership and home securing techniques, including damage assessment, homeowner needs information collection, volunteer safety, and debris removal and resource salvaging. These team leaders are essential to getting volunteer crews out and in the field and making the process of helping the victims of the typhoon go smoothly and efficiently.

The other training is a canvassing training on Fridays from 6pm to 7pm at the TSL Plaza on the third floor. The canvassing training will train volunteers on how to properly assess damage to people’s homes, listen to the survivors with compassion, help discover unmet needs of the survivors, and how to refer people to organizations that are trying to help.
