Busy as bees exploring Saipan
Ma Feng Wo Bee Leaders Club, a Chinese travel SNS website with 80 million users, were as busy as bees during their familiarization tour of Saipan on Nov. 19-25, 2015.
Fifteen users visited the island to discover “what’s all the buzz” about this resort destination and generate content for the website. Ma Feng Wo targets FITs (free independent travelers) and has had over 60 million downloads of its travel guidebooks and other information.
“The members of the Bee Leaders Club have a lot of travel experience, and they are good at photography and writing about their travel feelings. They choose video coverage, because as they say, a ‘good picture is better than thousands of words, but a good video is better than the picture,’” said Marianas Visitors Authority marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “They shoot videos of all kinds of activities to immerse people in their travel experience.”
The MVA worked with Century Tours to facilitate the Ma Feng Wo tour and assisted the group with film permitting for their visit. Activities included in their itinerary were a tour of Marpi and Managaha, paddle boarding, UTV jungle tour, star gazing, snorkeling, skydiving, a sunset dinner cruise, and Garapan Street Market. The Northern Marianas will join 200 other countries and regions featured on their site. (MVA)
