Businesswoman of the Year nominees presented

First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine celebrate 10 years of recognizing dynamic businesswomen in Guam and Saipan who have made significant contributions to their industries and have demonstrated a strong commitment to their community through its Businesswoman of the Year Maga’haga award.

Since 2006, the First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine Businesswoman of the Year program has awarded a total $184,237.50 in scholarships to deserving students in the community.

This year the nominees for the Maga’haga award are as follows:

– Edith V. Alvarez, general manager, Patterson Enterprises

– Joann G. Camacho, director of market development, DFS Guam

– Grace C. Donaldson, general manager, Pacific Human Resource Services, Inc.

– Kristine R. Lujan, marketing director, Triple J Enterprises

– Josephine DLG Mesta, director of human resources, Hyatt Regency Saipan

– Sandra H. McKeever, president, Asia Pacific Financial Management Group

– Rosario “Chet” B. Neri, international sales manager, Leo Palace Resort Guam

– Chen-yi “Jenny” Yang, owner and managing director, Globest LLC which does business as GNC

The 2015 Businesswoman of the Year will be announced at the 10th Annual Businesswoman of the Year gala to be held on Sunday, Sept. 6, at the Hyatt Regency Guam in conjunction with the release of the Guam Business Magazine September-October issue, which will feature a commissioned photo of the recipient on its cover.

Proceeds from the gala will fund scholarships at the University of Guam, Guam Community College and Northern Marianas College.

The 2014 Businesswoman of the Year Maga’haga award recipient was Shirley Ann T. Sablan, executive vice president and general manager of Pacifica Insurance Underwriters Inc. on Saipan. (PR)
