Burglary and theft at a Dandan home
Police officers were doing routine patrol in the village of Dandan last Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, at about 8:10pm, when an individual flagged down the officers, saying he wanted to report a burglary and theft incident that occurred at his son’s home. Police notified dispatch that they were entertaining a burglary and theft report.
The individual told officers that he went to the home to turn the outside lights on. When the father entered the home, he immediately noticed scattered items throughout the home and saw that one of the doors leading out of the home was slightly open. From there he stepped out the home to call police before flagging down a marked police vehicle conducting routine patrol.
As the owner of the home was making his way back, officers conducted a quick walk around the parameter and observed a damaged window screen on one side of the home. When the owner of the home returned, he conducted a quick inventory of his belongings. Items reported missing from the residence include: one black colored Hewlett Packard computer with a red colored keyboard, one Apple iPad with a black case, one black-colored Coach men’s handbag, and one red iPhone 7.
The Department of Public Safety would like to remind the public to be diligent when purchasing electronics from unknown individuals.
