Burglars broke into a businessman’s house in Chalan Kiya on Wednesday morning, the third incident in a three-day period in the neighborhood.

Burglars ransacked the house and even drank chocolate milk and ate rice crackers from the refrigerator, the businessman’s daughter Tiffany Yokoyama-Lizama told Saipan Tribune yesterday.

“Items and papers were thrown on the ground and everywhere in my father’s house. It’s like Typhoon Soudelor came over again!” Yokoyama-Lizama said.

An estimated $4,000 worth of items were stolen.

Among the items stolen were a Napa 12/24 Volt battery charger, a black Toshiba Satellite laptop, black Sony Vaio laptop, Beuchat Marine spear gun, black Fujifilm camera, two underwater Olympus cameras with housing and lens, Sinahi necklace, a 32-inch Sanyo LED flat screen TV, a black snorkel mask and fins, a silver PowerBank, two USB flash dive, external had drive with family photos, Makita skillsaw, Makita jigsaw, Dremel, electric planner, a Kawasaki grinder, and drills.

Yokoyama-Lizama urged anyone who has seen any of the items to call the police.

Yokoyama-Lizama said her father left his one-story semi-concrete three-bedroom house for errands on Wednesday at 7:30am and when he returned at 11:30am, the house was already ransacked.

She said her father called her and the police.

Burglars managed to enter the house by prying open one of the window grills on the storage room of a bedroom located on the side of the house.

Yokoyama-Lizama said neighbors reported that a group of individuals was seen driving around the neighborhood aboard a small red RAV4 vehicle.

She said prior to Wednesday’s burglary, a house and a barracks in the area were also burglarized in that three-day period.
