Buco, Taylor top HOM Series 3

Joel Buco and Heather Taylor led the finishers in the Pre-Hell of Marianas Series 3 held yesterday in Marpi.
Joel Buco won in the men’s open road bike division after completing the race (about 65-kilometers) that stretched from Tanapag Mobil Station to Suicide Cliff and finished at Mariana Resort in 2:30:59. Mark Isip (2:31:29) and Cesar Fortaleza (2:35:14) joined Buco in the Top 3.
In the women’s open division, Taylor came in first at 2:52:42, followed by Kimiko McKagan (2:58:58) and Robyn Spaeth (3:00:48). Shawna Brennfleck was the lone participant in the 40 and below category and finished the race in 3:31:31.
For the men’s 40 and below category, Justin Jones placed first after checking in at 2:37:59, followed by Ernie Henzon (3:13:32) and Travis Spaeth (3:18:25). For the 41 to 45 category, Nap Dizon came out on top with his time of 2:35:15 and defeated Dencio Bautista (2:35:16) and Harold Balana (2:42:31).
Rusty Valino was ranked first in the 46 to 50 category after submitting 2:48:18, while Enrique Suba (2:56:45) and Renato Barros (3:02:13) completed the Top 3.
Tyce Mister finished first in the 51 to 55 division with his 2:45:37, while Nomer Mangalinao (3:23:11) came in at second.
Floro Derexes ruled the 56 to 59 category after logging 2:41:40 and was followed by Norlo Jacosalem (2:52:43) and Phil Guiang (3:13:44). Manny Sitchon was the sole rider in the 60 and above category and timed in at 3:32:30.
Meanwhile, Noe Valdisimo and Ayano Braxton prevailed in the men and women’s MTD divisions of the final local event leading up to next month’s Hell of Marianas Century Cycle Race.
Valdisimo clocked in at 3:23:46 to lead Herman Cristobal (3:00:10) and Ding Ramos (3:01:47) in the Top 3, while Braxton posted 3:23:46 in the women’s.
In the men’s 51 to 55 age group, Romy Ampit won first with his 3:30:26, while Pax Guevarra (3:03:59) defeated Boboy Aguilar ( 3:10:36) in the over 60 category.
