Bridge Capital dominates ARC

Bridge Capital, LCC earned its third win in the 2019 Atkins Kroll Marianas International Basketball League after topping Aqua Resort Club, 116-86, last Saturday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Bridge Capital led from start to finish, as Freddie Pelisamen, Reynald Cabaltica, and Leroy Rangamar teamed up in the squad’s long-game briliance, while Austin Camacho and Matt Duenas also provided help for their 30-point winning margin.

Pelisamen top-scored for Bridge Capital with his 26 points, while Cabaltica had a double-double after firing 23 markers and getting 10 rebounds. Austin Camacho and Duenas also posted a double-double with the former recording 14 points and 17 rebounds and the latter having 12 points and 10 rebounds. Rangamar and Vince Teregeyo completed Bridge Capital’s list of players with twin digits in scoring after making 16 and 10, respectively.

Duenas, Camacho, Teregeyo, and Cabaltica combined for 38 points in the first half, giving Bridge Capital a 10-point advantage, 52-42.

Pelisamen then widened the gap in the third frame, 86-65, after sizzling for 16 points and knocking in two triples. Rangamar added 5 points and made one triple before firing two more in the final canto, as Bridge Capital finished off Aqua Resort by waxing hot from the beyond the arc.

Pelisamen matched Rangamar’s two treys in the fourth period, while Camacho and Cabaltica posted one each to counter the four triples Khristian Itaas made for Aqua.

Itaas delivered 25 points, while Greg Deleon Guerrero paced Aqua with his 31 markers. The young guns were the only two bright spots for Aqua, which was limited to six players for last weekend’s game.

With Bridge Capital’s victory, it improved its record to 3-3, moving up to solo fifth place in the team standings and staying in contention for a playoff berth. The Top 4 teams after the round-robin regular season will advance to the playoffs.

Saipan Vegas (6-0) is ahead in the rankings and is followed by IT&E (4-1), Caravan’s (4-2), MS Villagomez (3-2), Bridge Capital (3-3), Mystique (2-3), The Game (2-3), AK Toyota (2-4), Aqua (2-4), and TanHoldings (0-6).
