Pat Alepuyo made a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning and the defending champion GSM Brewers waltzed to a 17-1 win over the Jets in Monday night’s game in the 2015 Saipan Baseball League at the Francisco M. “Tan Ko” Palacios ball field.

Alepuyo, with two outs and the bases loaded, drove Mike Muna’s pitch to deep right field to bring in Vince Cepeda, Nokki Saralu, and Lancaster Secharmidal. He went 3-for-5 with two runs scored on two doubles with a total of five RBIs.

Alepuyo also had an RBI double in the top of the first and an RBI single earlier in the batting order in the seventh.

The Brewers, enjoying an 8-1 lead after six complete innings, made a 9-run barrage in the top of the seventh and closer Roy Celis came in the bottom half and shut down the Jets to seal their third straight win in as many games.

Celis made short work of the three batters he faced one by one striking out Jess Mesa, Joseph Attao, and Chris George to end the game and earn the win.

John Mafnas started for the Brewers and pitched four innings where he allowed the Jets to one run on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Daniel Agulto pitched two shutout innings in relief and holding their opponents to one hit while fanning two.

Left fielder Perry Tudela, who had a lead-off walk in the bottom of the third, scored the Jets’ lone run when he reached home on a Manny Sablan throwing error.

Jesse Brel also batted 3-for-5 with one run and two RBIs, while Secharmidal went perfect at the plate, 3-for-3, with four runs and a double. Cepeda, 2-for-4, scored twice, an RBI and a triple.

Jets center fielder Dave Matagolai went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.

The Falcons (2-0) were playing the North Starz (1-2) at press time while the Fielders (1-2) take on the Yankees (1-1) tomorrow at 7pm at the Tan Ko ball field.
