The National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam lifted the typhoon warning for Saipan and Tinian at around 8:20am today even as Typhoon Bualoi continued its northwest trek away from the Marianas.

Bualoi made a pass just north of Anatahan between 5am and 5:30am Tuesday morning. This position allowed the strongest and typhoon-force winds to keep north and offshore of Saipan as it passed.

At 7am, Bualoi was centered 110 miles north of Saipan and 65 miles south-southwest of Alamagan. It was moving northwest at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph. Bualoi is now a Category-4 typhoon.

Tinian and Saipan residents are advised to wait for the All Clear before venturing out to allow local officials a couple of hours to assess for any damage or blocked roads.
