Gov. Ralph DLG Torres has asked the entire Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board to resign.

The decision could in part be based on the recommendation of House Public Utilities and Communications Committee chair Rep. Frank Del Cruz (R-Saipan).

The Torres administration, in a statement, said the board’s resignation is effective today and that Torres will appoint new members soon.

“[Gov. Torres] is prepared to appoint a new board to guide the policy direction of the CUC,” said part of the Office of the Governor statement.

More details to follow.
