Gov. Ralph DLG Torres today accepted the courtesy resignation of Labor Secretary Edith Deleon Guerrero.

Torres’ decision is part of the administration’s mid-term review of all appointments made by the late governor Eloy S. Inos when he and Torres were elected in 2015.

The Torres administration did the performance reviews after requesting all Cabinet members to submit their respective courtesy resignations.

Torres, in a statement, thanked Deleon Guerrero for her years of service at Labor and wished her the best in her future endeavors.

“[She] has worked very hard and has been an intricately involved with the complex events following federal control over immigration in the CNMI. I wish her the best in her future endeavors and commend her for the work she has accomplished.”

Deleon Guerrero was part of the CNMI panel in the 902 talks last year; the report is already with congressional leaders for review.

Her department was also at the forefront in implementing local labor laws and investigating the alleged treatment of workers who entered the CNMI as tourists.
