BREAKING NEWS: No immediate threat from reported North Korea missile tests

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense, in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center, federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region, including reports of projectiles launched out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea today.

The reported projectiles were launched from North Korea’s east coast from the Hodo Peninsula and traveled about 428 miles over the sea. There was no indication the reported tests posed an immediate threat to Guam or the Marianas.

“The tests come less than a week after similar reported tests out of North Korea. Guam Homeland Security, along with our local, military and federal partners, will continue to monitor the events surrounding the incidents,” said Homeland Security adviser Tim Aguon. (PR)
