The Boss brings an island favorite back to airwaves

TAMUNING, Guam—On Monday, May 16, 2016, Choice Broadcasting Company welcomed veteran radio announcer Cindy “Sister Cindy” Hanson to Boss 104. Hanson will assume afternoon drive duties Monday through Friday from 2pm to 6 pm and assist with Promotions and Digital Sales of the station’s website and newly launched mobile app. “I have wanted Cindy at The Boss for a long time,” said content manager and mid-day host Albert Juan. “It’s going to be really cool to finally have her on the team.”

Hanson has an extensive background in broadcasting and media, having worked as a radio personality, writer, marketing & public relations professional in Guam and the US mainland for over 30 years. “It’s great to have someone with Cindy’s level of expertise joining us,” said managing partner Ray Gibson. “I’ve been concentrating on putting together the most talented and enthusiastic group of people I can, individuals who share my vision of radio for Guam. Cindy is a perfect fit for The Boss.”

Hanson, best known by her radio moniker “Sister Cindy,” is a local favorite, popular for her quirky sense of humor and quick wit. “I am so excited,” she said. “I feel like a kid at Christmas—going back to radio, my first love, and doing it with a group of people I adore. Ray has put together an amazing team and the company is investing in the stations with new equipment, new studios and office space. It’s a dream come true!”

Hanson’s first radio show will air on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. “I can’t wait. I have wanted to be on The Boss for such a long time. It’s the station I listen to and now it’s the station I work for—it’s a dream match!”

Listeners are encouraged to download the station’s new mobile app which allows for live streaming so they can enjoy Boss 104 throughout the day. The Boss and its sister station, KNUT 101.1 FM, are located on Marine Corps Drive in Tamuning, across from intersection leading in to Harmon.
