WASHINGTON, D.C.—Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo (D-GU) issued Friday the following statement on revised guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on the applicability of certain provision of the Affordable Care Act to the territories: “The recent guidance issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services raise a number of questions regarding the Affordable Care Act’s applicability to Guam and the other territories. I am working with CMS and HHS to ensure that our people have access to affordable and quality health insurance. I will also continue to work with our federal partners, local leaders and stakeholders to address the concerns raised by Guam’s insurance providers that certain ACA mandates could lead to significant increases in insurance premiums on Guam. The implementation of the ACA is a work in progress, and through the rulemaking process, we will have opportunities to address issues important to our community.” (PR)
