Bordallo on removal of VA’s Shulkin

HAGÅTÑA, Guam—Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo (D-GU) issued the following statement yesterday on President Trump’s removal of David Shulkin as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Trump also announced via twitter that he will nominate his presidential physician, Adm. Ronny Jackson, to be the next VA secretary.

“Our veterans face serious challenges, and the VA needs stable and consistent leadership to address them. While we have made some progress here [in] Guam, local veterans continue to struggle with consistent access to healthcare, timely processing of benefits claims, and recognition of our unique challenges because of our geographic location. Guam veterans are also waiting for solutions to assertions of Agent Orange and radiation exposure from past wars. I continue working in Congress to advance these issues, and I will push for the new VA leadership to work ardently within the Trump Administration to prioritize our challenges.” (PR)
