HAGÅTÑA, Guam—Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo issued the following statement on the passing of her brother in law and former senator, Al Ysrael.
“Today, I join my sister Diana and her family in mourning the death of her husband and my brother-in-law, former senator Al Ysrael,”said Bordallo. “Al was a dear friend who was firm in his beliefs, never strayed from controversy and always kept things interesting with his unique sense of humor. He chose to make Guam his home and raised a beautiful family here. The Ysrael family has made many invaluable contributions to our community. Al was pioneering and a natural and driven leader. He invested in our community and was integral in the economic development of Guam, most notably in Tumon to enhance our economic industry. Many of the modern developments in Guam can be attributed to Al and his innovativeness. Not only was Al a successful businessman, but a faithful public servant, philanthropist, and humanitarian. Al served selflessly as a senator for two terms in the Guam Legislature. He was a generous man who gave to many organizations and charitable causes. I am extremely saddened by this and I join the people of Guam in mourning his loss. Al will truly be missed.” (PR)
