Bordallo announces Ro appointed to US Military Academy
HAGÅTÑA, Guam—Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo announced that Charlson Ro has been offered a letter of appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point in New York.
Charlson is the son of Joo Jin and Jae Seon Ro of Dededo and a 2015 graduate of St. John’s High School. Charlson was nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo, and competed with nominees nationwide for admission into West Point.
Charlson currently attends the University of California, Berkley. He was a National Merit Scholarship finalist and served as National Honor Society president. Charlson was a member of the cross country team and played lead percussion in his school’s various musical groups, in addition to many other extracurricular activities.
“I am proud of the Charlson and congratulate him on this offer to attend West Point and serve our nation in the Army,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “Charlson and his family have a lot to look forward to and I wish him luck at the Academy and for his successful completion of courses at West Point. I find it remarkable that this gifted young man is willing to leave a great education at Berkley to attend West Point and serve our nation. This speaks volumes about the untapped potential of our future generations and their desire to serve their country. I know that Charlson will continue to excel and make our island proud. (PR)
