BoH to close current branches; new branch to open in 2016

Bank of Hawaii will be closing their current branches on island and will be opening a new office on Saipan.

According to a letter signed by BoH West Pacific Region vice president Hobbs Lowson that was sent out to customers, the BoH main branch located at Marina Heights Business Park in Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Puerto Rico will be closing at the end of the business day on Dec. 31, 2015.

All checking, savings, time deposit, and loan accounts from that branch will be temporarily transferred to the Chalan Kanoa branch at the Town House Shopping Center on Beach Road from Jan. 1 until Jan. 31, 2016.

The branch located at Chalan Kanoa will then close at the end of business day on Jan. 29, 2016.

“We have appreciated the opportunity to serve you at this location and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience resulting from the closure,” BoH said.

BoH will be opening a new branch in Gualo Rai at the Springs Plaza in Chalan Pale Arnold Road. This brand new branch will open on Feb. 1, 2016, and from then on, all checking, savings, time deposit, and loan accounts will be serviced in the new Gualo Rai branch.

BoH assures their customers that their account numbers will remain the same. Customers may also continue to use their checks and Bankoh BankCard or Bank of Hawaii Visa Check Card as usual.

Those with a safe deposit box or are a night deposit customer will be contacted separately by BoH regarding the transfer of their safe deposit box or night deposit service.

Customers can call their 24-hour customer service center at 1-877-553-2424.

“We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to provide for your banking needs,” BoH said.
