Bank of Hawaii has now closed its two branches and opened a single branch in Gualo Rai along Chalan Pale Arnold Road.
BOH announced since last October their plan to consolidate the two branches to the one at Springs Plaza.
“We are very excited about the new Gualo Rai branch and have introduced a number of enhancements to improve the customer experience,” West Pacific manager Hobbs Lowson said.
“In addition to the added convenience provided at the new centralized location on Middle Road we are introducing envelope-free ATMs and bio metric safe deposit box access,” he added.
The BoH branch located at Marina Heights Business Park in Chalan Pale Arnold Road closed last Dec. 31. The branch located at Chalan Kanoa, on the other hand, closed last Jan. 29.
The new branch was packed yesterday morning and there was quite a line of people wanting to have their transactions processed.
“I understand that it was busy this morning as a result of the grand opening and am glad that there was so much interest,” Lowson said
Asked if there is a possibility of opening up another branch, Lowson said there are no plans yet.
“We have no plans for another branch at this time,” he said.
According to Lowson, the automated teller machines in their old branches in Chalan Kanoa and Puerto Rico will be closed early this month.
“We are evaluating alternatives. Customers are encouraged to use nearby ATMs,” Lowson said.
