BoG’s Dave Joves is WIB chair

HAGATNA, Guam—During its annual conference on March 25-29 in Honolulu, the Western Independent Bankers elevated chair-elect Dave Joves to board chair.
The Western Independent Bankers, established in 1937, is the premier banking trade association comprising a network of 550 independent community banks in 13 western states whose goal is continuing quality education and valuable networking among its banking members.
Joves is regional manager for the Bank of Guam’s California region, having joined the bank in 2011, following 14 years with Mission National Bank in San Francisco, four of them as president, chief executive officer and director with the bank. He had previously served as chief financial officer of MNB. An alumnus of the University of California, Davis, Joves holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of San Francisco. He currently serves as Director and Secretary for the Association of Asian American Bankers. Joves has served as a director of Western Independent Bankers since 2015 and served as a director of Western Independent Bankers Service Corp. from 2008 to 2015, acting as chair from 2012-2013.
