BOE inaugural meeting next Monday
The CNMI State Board of Education will inaugurate members Herman T. Guerrero and Florine M. Hofschneider next Monday, Jan. 12, at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. The event begins at 8am.
It will be comprised of a 13th CNMI State Board of Education regular meeting and the 14th State BOE inaugural meeting.
In the regular meeting, board member Lucia Blanco Maritia and Guerrero will be recognized for their service by Education Commissioner Dr. Rita Sablan.
Maratita, an outgoing member of the board, is slated to deliver her outgoing remarks. The recognition and swearing in of incoming members Guerrero and Hofscneider will follow.
The inaugural meeting of the 14th CNMI State BOE will begin after. An election of officers is scheduled in this meeting.
Derwin C. Johnson and Yvonne R. Pangelinan are slated as master and mistress of ceremony. Posting of colors will be led by Kagman High School JROTC Battalion, and the CNMI and National anthems will be sung by the Marianas High School Glee Club.
In last November’s elections, Hofschneider claimed the BOE spot for Tinian from opponent Martin Sakisat. Guerrero was the sole candidate for the Saipan representative to the board.
