CNMI bodybuilders have more to look forward to this year as the Dee Clayton Classic and Northern Marianas Bodybuilding and Physique Federation Championships is set for June 10 at the Saipan World Resort’s Taga Hall.
The show starts at 5pm and tickets are $30.
Winners will then represent the CNMI and advance to the NPC Guam National Bodybuilding Championships on June 24 at the Sheraton Laguna in Guam
These qualifiers then set the stage for the CNMI National Bodybuilding Team for the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands from Nov. 19 to Dec. 2.
For the Dee Clayton Classic, the categories are bodybuilding, teen bodybuilding, men’s classic physique, men’s physique, master’s physique, teen physique, women’s classic physique, figure, bikini, teen bikini, fitness pageant, teen fitness pageant, fitness performance, wellness, and mixed pair.
Dee Clayton, president of the DC Classic, is looking at tentatively getting eight males and six females into the bodybuilding team and that they already have at least four official coaches who have volunteered to coach for the upcoming Games.
She said she is looking forward to the last bodybuilding qualifying competition for those who want to compete for fun and for those who want to try to make the cut for the national team.
Last November’s championship saw 21 competitors and in this June competition, Clayton thinks there will be more as they vie for a spot on the CNMI team to represent at the Pacific Games.
