Blue Dreams consists of local talents Azzy Aguirre on vocals, Victor Cabrera on guitar, Scottie Guerrero on guitar, Christopher Jones on bass, and Joel Flores on percussion.

Azzy Aguirre and Victor Cabrera (vocals and guitars) are students at Northern Marianas College and have a background in rock, reggae, and jazz music and have played in bands here on Saipan.

Scottie Guerrero, known as the “King of Saipan,” has played in several bands on Saipan since the age of 6 and is the No. 1 first call guitar soloists! Scottie is also known for his virtuoso scale fingering and stage antics.

Joel Flores is also a rare percussion talent from Saipan and has been in bands and done session work since he was just 6. Joel has previous session work with the James Browner band in Papau New Guinea. The James Browner band was a James Brown cover band. Joel has attained the “first call” preference for drummers on Saipan.

Christopher Jones is the band’s founder and has an extensive international touring experience in Korea, Northern Europe, California, and Texas. He also has three CDs out and has done session work for TV commercials and bands in Texas and L.A. His latest CD, Audition Codices, which is found under the band name “Genetic Drift,” can be purchased on the “CD Baby” website.

Blue Dreams’ set list includes Seal, Michael Jackson, Journey, Steve Miller Band, Oasis, Beatles, Steppenwolf, Sade and some original tunes, to name a few.

Blue Dreams will be performing at the Northern Marianas College Charter Day on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 5:45pm to 6:30pm.

The band will debut at Jonny’s Bar this Friday, March 13, 2015, during the first set break at 11pm. (PR)
