Black Ball increases lead in Thursday League

The 9 Eleven 8 Black Ball increased its lead in the Saipan Billiards Association-Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday League after a 13-0 crushing of the VFW Assassins last week.

The quartet of Neil Ayson, Tata Hamoy, Rodel Dela Cruz, and Rey Hermogenes proved to be too much for Assassins crew Julian Reyes, Jay Torres, Mel Rengiil, Mike Okelley, and Henry Reyes, as the shutout win gave Black Ball a 55-23 record.

The Black Ball now leads the Amari’s IT&E Homeboyz by eight wins as the latter earned a 47-31 mark after 78 games in the weekly billiards tournament. Sister teams 9 Eleven MJD Warriors (41-37) and Titans (40-38) complete the Top 4.

Sands Team SCS (37-41), Brannon’s Jam Shooters (36-42), Amari’s Intensity 8 (33-45), and VFW Assassins (23-55) are the the teams playing in the Thursday League.

In the Tuesday League, the 9 Eleven Wildboyz and sister squad Marianas Water are tied on top with similar 52-26 records and are followed closely by the Amari’s IT&E Destroyers (51-27).

Marianas Water downed the Destroyers, 8-5, to gain a share of the lead, while the Masters Touch nipped the Str8 Black Ball, 7-6. The Wildboyz drubbed the Builders, 11-2, to stay on top.
