Chow Time is the go-to place for good grub any time of the day, particularly the early hours of the morning. Now that Chow Time has extended its little nook at 99 Cents in Garapan, there’s even more reason to go and eat there.
Chow Time is proud to announce that they have extended the snackbar and it is now ready to host parties, karaoke nights, and many more occasions. The new Chow Time—referred to as Chow Time 2—is equipped with a few more tables, a flat screen plasma TV complete with karaoke, wi-fi, and even alcohol for adults. The place has a cozy atmosphere that definitely reminds you of home.
Owner Anna Liza Guancia is proud of the first Chow Time (Chow Time 1) because it removes the racial discrimination amongst customers. “In Chow Time 1, everybody is family. We have regulars who are Chinese, Korean, Russian, Filipino, and Chamorro. Even though the tables are small, they do not hesitate to share the table, and that is what we aim for. We want the people that eat here feel that they are in the company of their family,” she said. “They can even bring the kids here and sing karaoke, which in some establishments aren’t allowed.”
Chow Time 1 was a popular site for some tourists. Guancia even recalls a Chinese family returning multiple times to eat the Filipino delicacy adobo. “It’s really heartwarming to see that even other nationalities are enjoying our food,” said Guancia. “They are really enjoying the authentic Filipino food.”
Guancia even caters to requests from guests. “All of our cooks specialize in international cuisine. We can make Japanese, Chinese, Korean, American, you name it,” says Guancia. “My cooks are really flexible and that’s what makes me really lucky to have them work for me. They also help in serving some of the customers.”
Unlike Chow Time 1, that is open 24 hours, Chow Time 2 is only open from 11am to 2pm and from 6:30pm to 2am. For advance orders, call 233-8463.
