Through its cash contribution, Bridge Investment Group has signed on as the latest sponsor supporting Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance’s work in conserving the islands’ natural resources. Bridge Investment Group’s $5,000 cash donation was made to support MINA’s fundraising efforts.

BIG chief executive officer Phillip Mendiola-Long expressed that, “We are proud to once again to be an Emerald Sponsor for MINA’s Green Gala event. Some may not be aware that Bridge Investment’s workforce is 84 percent local. This means we are a unique project in that as local residents we have a stakeholder interest in how we build the project and how we take care of the environment in doing so. After all the construction is done, it is the local residents who are left with the consequences, so I am proud to say that our local team takes environmental awareness, stewardship and protection seriously.”

Mendiola-Long furthermore states, “Our CSR division was established on April of last year.Since then, the CSR team has prioritized several environmental conservation projects and intend on continuing more projects. We will continue to work with MINA in their efforts to protect our environment, and have already offered to host them on Tinian for future environmental conservation projects.”

MINA, the leading conservation nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth, has worked to implement various conservation projects, including the Plastic Bag Challenge, the Schools for Environmental Conservation workshops, the Marine Debris Prevention program, Tasi Watch Program, the Adopt-A-Bin Project, and Managaha Pride Campaign. The organization is supported by project grants and from generous contributions from local businesses and community members. In order to continue its efforts to preserve and protect the CNMI’s environment and biodiversity, MINA is seeking the community’s participation in the Green Gala event.

The Green Gala will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at the Fiesta Resort & Spa. In addition to lively entertainment, dinner and a variety of beverages, the Green Gala will feature highlights from MINA’s projects, a silent auction, and many other activities that promise a memorable evening to celebrate over 12 years of working with island communities for conservation.
