To foster a safe and respectable work environment for its employees, Bridge Investment Group, LLC took the initiative to provide sexual harassment awareness training to its employees on Oct. 7, 2016.
Bridge Investment brought in executive director Masie Tenorio and Kiki Benjamin of the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence to offer this training.
Tenorio and Benjamin delivered important information regarding sexual harassment in the workplace. This seminar has afforded Bridge Investment employees with an understanding of the impact that sexual harassment has on the workplace and ways to prevent it. Bridge Investment assures that its employees are aware of the expectations for a safe and respectable workplace environment.
Tenorio emphasized that, as a new company, Bridge Investment “has a unique opportunity to create a culture where sexual harassment is not tolerated, reporting is encouraged, and employees feel safe. They reached out to us for training on sexual harassment and that is a great first step! We encourage them to put practices that promote respect and safety into place and look forward to providing support where we can.”
Bridge Investment CEO Phillip Thomas Mendiola-Long said, “I will ensure that all of our employees understand what sexual harassment is and send the message to those who encounter or witness it that it will not be tolerated in our company. The first step is to define what sexual harassment is and this class made that possible. I want to thank [the coalition] for coming over and training our staff. We can all now be clear on what is acceptable and non-acceptable behavior on the job site. With our team, I am sure Bridge Investment will have a safe working environment and now everyone understands the concept of sexual harassment.”
