Hyatt Regency Saipan joins other Hyatt hotels from around the world in honoring over 80,000 employees this week for the “Celebrating Our People” initiative during the week of June 18.

The 317-room hotel strategically located in the shopping and entertainment district of Garapan recognizes its employees as “the most important asset” of Hyatt Regency Saipan, thus planning on devoting three consecutive days for them.

Luis Villagomez, assistant marketing communications manager, said that the three-day event highlights several activities to which Hyatt Regency Saipan associates can participate.

“These activities promote teamwork and camaraderie amongst team members, a trait very essential to a Hyatt team member,” he said.

Among these activities, Villagomez said, are “Taga Fit” or Hyatt Regency Saipan’s version of Cross Fit, a blindfold game called “Total Black Out,” Desperate Housewives’ Cook Off, and Paddle Surf Race.

Villagomez noted that awarding of the “Hystars of the Year” or Employee of the Year awards for guest services and operations support staff will be presented during the three-day event.

The assistant manager also said that the event is also an opportunity for employees to celebrate Hyatt’s mission “to make a difference in the lives of others” by taking part in the Global Volunteer Initiative or Hyatt Thrive.

Hyatt Thrive is a corporate initiative driven by Hyatt’s passion to serve others. Hyatt believes that there are four essential areas to a thriving community: environmental sustainability, economic development and investment, education and personal advancement, and health and wellness.

To promote the last essential area, Hyatt Regency Saipan through Hyatt Thrive will be hosting “Run For A Cause” on June 30.

Registration fee for “Run For A Cause” is $35 per person and must be paid by June 22. An additional $10 fee will be paid for late registration.

To register for “Run For A Cause,” visit Club Elan Fitness Centre or call 323-5850. For information about the “Celebrating Our People” initiative, call 234-1234 ext. 5858.
