Two Judiciary employees learn belligerent control techniques

Two employees of the Office of Adult Probation and Marshal Service Unit of the CNMI Judiciary on Saipan and Rota recently completed a five-day Basic Officer Survival Training Course.

DPS Capt. Pete Leon Guerrero conducted the training for Anthony A. Atalig and Jose P. Mafnas, preparing the candidates in self-defense, the use of pepper-spray, expandable baton, tactical handcuffing, and other techniques of belligerent control.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho, who joined the Judiciary in late 2011, is providing oversight of the Marshal Service Division’s training curriculum to ensure that it consistent with and at the same level of professionalism as the Department of Public Safety’s.
