Tony P. hits the nail on the head
Despite being old enough to be most reader’s grandfather, Tony Pellegrino has more life and energy and sheer force of honest basic character in his little pinky than all the political yahoo Barbecue Bud Boys up on Capitol Hill put together.
His current column is dead on right about the CNMI’s fall from grace. Tony makes his weekly observations in a clear, straight-to-the point style that gets his point across quickly, instead of falling in love with his own words and trying to impress readers. And hit the nail on the head this week with his summary of the past few decades. We need to reread his letter a few times and really let it sink in just how embarrassingly far we’ve fallen in such a short time, how lazy and unethical our society has become, and we’ve allowed a long line of complete idiots with no understanding of the real outside world to run our island into the ground while lining their own pockets.
Right on Tony for tellin’ it like it is without trying to make readers feel you’re more intelligent than them by peppering your weekly prose with metaphors and verbiage. Sad to say, the local people who need to hear your words most probably have not the patience, or brain power, to even finish reading your column.
